Located in the west end of Toronto, Johnson Dance offers classes for dancers at both the recreational and competitive level. Our dancers range in age from pre-schoolers as young as 4 to university students in their early 20s.
Our Goal At Johnson Dance ....
At Johnson Dance we strive to bring out the best in each and every dancer and help them reach their full potential. Our classes are structured to allow each dancer to receive the individual attention they need while learning in a group environment that encourages co-operation, determination and dedication.
Irish dancing is not only a great form of physical activity! It can help young dancers to develop better body control and coordination while helping them learn how to follow instructions and increases their attention span. Irish dancing can also help dancers to increase their self-esteem and the confidence in their abilities. Most importantly, life long friendships are developed between classmates, the other dancers in the school and even with dancers from other schools!
At Johnson Dance, we believe that the lessons learned in dance classes apply to more than just dance! Dancers are taught how to be members of a team, how to work towards achieving their goals and to honor their commitment whether it be to an hour of practice, a year of classes, or to a place on a team competing at a National level.
In addition to being members of our school, our dancers are also prominent members of our community on St. Patricks Day, dancing at local seniors homes and restaurants, and through out the rest of the year. Johnson Dancers have performed at Taste of the Kingsway, Ontario Place, the Rogers Centre, Famous People Players, the Good Shepherd Gala as well as at events organized by Peggy Nash, David Miller, and Dalton McGuinty. Our dancers have also been featured on Breakfast Television and have performed at the Sony Centre with the Trinity Academy of Irish Dance.
